The Meadows brand was started by and is still run by Mr Darryn Payne (see about us).  His experience with essential oils started in his childhood and then deciding to make a career of it in the late 80’s has allowed him to gain first hand knowledge in the supply chain by working for an Egyptian producer of essential oils. From growing & distillation to the general supply chain and who to trust and who not to!

As a company we want you to have the best oils and achieve the best results with them whatever you buy them for. To do this you need to use oils that apart from being 100% pure and natural, are fresh and have the vibrancy you need to bring results.

Our products have been successfully sold around the world for almost 20 years and we are a large supplier into the worlds most quality stringent market, Japan. In Japan we supply at all levels from members of co-operatives to the medical profession. We supply our products at various levels elsewhere, including in bulk quantities to therapists, soap makers and other aromatherapy companies.

Testing, apart from the usual ‘wet’ analysis that our oils undertake (GLC, Density, RI) we have a strict policy on odour quality and odour vibrancy the best quality is always made available to our customers.

Factoids:

Did you know that some companies adulterate their Lavender oil with Lavandin Abrialis? You can detect this (partly by odour) and partly by the higher camphor content. We supply 4 different pure lavenders, and also Spike lavender and Lavandin Abrialis.

Did you know that adulterated Ylang Ylang III has a nicer odour than that of the pure Oil. Strange as it sounds but cheaper, nature identical ingredients of Benzyl Acetate and Benzyl Salycilate are added. We supply only the 100% pure top grade Ylang Ylang Extra( first distillation) which is the most pleasant, vibrant and effective for aromatherapy.

Did you know that fresh Geranium oil has a cabbage like note to it and the older the oil the more Rosey its note? This is due to natural sulphides being present in the fresh oil (it happens in other oils to) and is a sign of a good fresh quality, a little airing of the container allows this to dissipate. Our Organic Geranium oil from Kenya is probably the highest distilled Geranium In the world(2000ft +) where larger amounts of U.V and clean savanna air give this oil a beautiful aroma.
